Boston Spa Chess Club

We formed in 2014 (Limewood and Scarcroft Chess Club) with a single team in the main Leeds League and a single team in the Mini League. In 2023 due to moving to our new home at Boston Spa Village Hall, we changed our name to Boston Spa Chess Club.

 

We now have many teams across the whole array of competitions and are one of the Big Four clubs in the Leeds League with over 50 members. There is a team place assured for anyone who wants to play no matter what ability they have.

 

We currently charge no club fees, but we ask members to donate what they see fit so that we can cover our running costs and venue fees. Playing in Leeds Chess Association matches also requires ECF membership of at least bronze level (currently £18 pa).

Matches are always played on Wednesday evenings starting at 7pm and the season runs from October to June, although we do meet up monthly for friendly games and competitions out of season.
